Here in Bloomington, there’s an event that occurs every Monday night…and it’s Punk Rock Night. It’s been going on since November 2004, and it has lasted longer than some people thought it might. We’ve had some really good shows from nationally touring bands… The Queers … Thunderlip… The Methadones … Bang Sugar Bang … as well as some sweet shows featuring local bands … Sump Pumps, Nicotones, Johnny Fallout and The Radiation

(my band), and many others. There are always decent drink specials going on too. There’s always the $4.25 domestic pitchers, and then usually $1.50 well drinks or $2.00 bottles of PBR.

Last night was the Applecore’s final show. These guys have been playing around Bloomington for quite awhile and have a decent fan base here. I wish they could keep playing because a) I like them, and b) They’ve got a van and we usually tour with them. Hopefully we can still borrow the van.

no car…no job…just zelda…

Over the past 2 months, my car has been had one minor accident, two major accidents, been broken into, and been stolen. It has spent two and a half sad, lonely weeks in the tow truck company’s fenced in lot due to the tow truck company’s inability to properly run itself. I fear it may not return from the soggy, muddy grave it is sinking into. I’ve been forced out of work (pizza delivery) by a 16 year-old and his three drunken friends who failed to notice the red light hanging over their lane last Saturday morning. The little money I do have is being saved for the tow truck company…if they ever tow my car…..I’ve been eating corn tortillas and $.63 fountain drinks from the gas station….everyday…but atleast I’ve played a more than wholesome amount of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii. It’s pretty sweet. I don’t know what I will do when I’m finished with it. Maybe I’ll look for another job…or car…
