I adopted two new friends today. As of yet, I haven’t figured out their names, but that will happen soon enough. They’re both very adventurous and try to explore my house whenever I let them out of their cage.
I adopted them off of a girl here in Bloomington who had an unexpected litter of twelve around the beginning of January. So, now I’m the proud father of two 3-month old rats. With these two new additions, the total number of pets is five: the two rats, Grover Cleveland the mouse, Charlie the dog (lives with my girlfriend), and Val the rabbit (also lives with my girlfriend. I don’t have any pictures of Grover or Val yet, but here’s a badly made video of my girlfriend and Charlie from last fall… the first six seconds are me trying to figure out if the camera was recording…
…worked tonight for a whopping three hours, took 13 deliveries…made $36…now I’m home…
I started practicing again with Johnny Fallout and The Radiation, which is very cool. My good friend Josh (guitar) and I (bass) are the only members left in it, but we’ve picked up a pretty cool drummer named Danny…he also joined our Dungeons & Dragons campaign, so that’s cool too. We’re still looking for a singer and another guitarist, and we’d better find them soon since we’ve already got a show booked for mid-April with The Queers. Hopefully the band will work out better this time around…it wasn’t too bad last time, we all had fun, but nothing ever seemed to really go anywhere. We went on a few tours and played a decent amount of shows, but I think a good part of our effort was wasted by not being decently sober half of the time. We managed to sell all of our CDs and about half of our shirts, but I don’t think we gained much support in our general area of the country, because other than the tours (which didn’t really hit any of the same spots twice), we mostly only played in our hometown. Sure, our friends always came out to shows, and we picked up some new friends in town, but if we went back to Detroit or Lexington or Paducah, nobody would remember us… So, hopefully, once Johnny Fallout is ready to play shows again, we can start hitting the road every other weekend or so, hitting the same towns every other month or so, and start finding new friends along the way who remember us and want to come out and have a good time whenever we come to town…
Once again, my bad luck has reared it’s ugly head. Last night, while warming up my car for work, the front windshield of my car decided to die.
I had rented a car since mine was incapacitated and I needed to work. While sitting in the car, freezing, waiting for it to warm up, I started hearing a weird creaky sound coming from the general area of the windshield. I sat for a few seconds, wondering what the sound could be, when CRACK!…and nice sized lined appeared across the entire front windshield.
I took the car back today and had to fill out some forms regarding said windshield. They told me to expect a call from their claims department….I’m sure this will turn out badly…
It’s 6:37pm and I have to work in 1 hour and 23 minutes, and I have to be there until about 5 in the morning. There’s a full lunar eclipse tonight, but the sky is overcast, so I’ll be missing out on that. It’s also snowing…even though yesterday it was sixty degrees and sunny…gotta love Indiana’s weather. Hopefully there aren’t too many assholes ordering pizza tonight, but there is a basketball game, so I’m sure I’ll have my fair share of drunken sorority boys and girls to deal with. I really need to get a different job….
